This summary separates an allowed route in Paris, an announced meeting in Toulouse and a reported ban in Lyon. It is not an exhaustive list of actions across France.

The essentials

The call for Saturday, October 24 follows the October 17 mobilisation. The 17 Octobre Gilet Jaune initiative uses the name “Act II”. Groups sharing a date do not necessarily share a route, an organisation or every demand.[3][4]

Practical arrangements depend on the city. An announcement identifies a meeting; an administrative decision can change or prohibit a plan. The table summarises what we documented as of October 22 without applying one city’s decisions to another.[1][5][6]

October 24 protests: city-by-city times and status

Check the status of each entry alongside its time. A published meeting point does not establish an approved route, and a ban applies to the place and date it covers.

Paris: Bastille–Nation at 2pm, a different status for the Opéra route

In Paris, the Bastille–Nation route proposed by groups including the CGT is allowed to proceed, according to the Police Prefecture quoted by ICI and RMC. The separate Bastille–Opéra plan proposed by Interfac and several Yellow Vest groups is subject to an announced prohibition order.[2][1]

Toulouse: an announced 2pm meeting at Jean-Jaurès

Démosphère Pyrénées lists a meeting at Jean-Jaurès on Saturday, October 24 at 2pm. The announcement names FSU 31, CGT Haute-Garonne, Solidaires and the Toulouse inter-school assembly.[5]

The call concerns study conditions, young people’s future, wages, purchasing power and pensions. It also refers to the November 5 mobilisation. These are the aims of the published call; they do not describe measures adopted by the authorities.[5]

The announcement does not provide a full route or a prefectural decision. It establishes an announced meeting at Jean-Jaurès, but cannot confirm an end point or every street along the route.[5]

Lyon: a ban announced for Saturday, October 24

Franceinfo reported on October 22 that the Rhône prefecture had announced a ban on all demonstrations in Lyon on Saturday. The article does not provide the detailed hours or the full text of the orders for Lyon.[6]

This entry describes the reported local status rather than suggesting a meeting point. Any appeal, court ruling or new order would require the information to be checked again before October 24.[6]

October 24 protest maps: what the markers can tell you

A crowdsourced map can show a call for action without proving that it is declared, authorised or still current. Check the marker’s date, author and latest local announcement. Geographic reference points should not be counted as demonstrations.[3]

Our Paris guide includes a diagram showing the sequence of streets on the Bastille–Nation route. The website’s general map also covers other dates; it is not an exhaustive map of October 24 marches.[1]

Lille, Bordeaux and Marseille: why the list is still being updated

This page does not yet provide sufficiently verified local entries for these three cities. Their absence establishes neither the absence of a call nor a ban or a confirmed route. An entry can be added when its time, purpose and source can be clearly identified.

Events held in the same city on the same day may concern different issues. The organisers and demands must be identified before an event is linked to this mobilisation.

October 24 and the November 5 strike: two separate dates

The CGT calls for the strike to be extended on November 5 and offers support on October 24 where conditions allow a safe march. This does not make every October 24 gathering part of a single strike or a common programme.[4]
