Our view: could the student movement continue?

In our view, one march may not be enough to ease student unrest. The government has announced admissions reform, smaller classes and more places, but many measures are scheduled for 2027–2028. The gap between students’ immediate concerns and that timetable remains; debt and budget constraints also make funding choices harder.

A path towards compromise may only come into view after a winter of repeated negotiations.
