Our view: could tensions continue after November 5?
In our view, tensions could continue after November 5. The 2027 draft budget prioritises reducing the deficit, while unions demand higher wages and more resources for public services. Debt and interest costs narrow the room for concessions. Without an acceptable way to share the burden, protests and negotiations may keep alternating.
Can a new balance emerge from these fractures? The answer may still have to be sought through the long winter nights ahead.
